This plane fit well since the cost is reasonable and it still flys at a decent speed for the fuel. I do some local flights as well as go to florida to visit dad, also looking for baggage pods as the mod is already complete. Hopefully someday a velocity will be in my hangar. Also looking for anyone to talk with in person in Minneapolis area about working on Long EZ's.

The GA community seems to have a fight on it's hands. They want to expand the Kalispell city airport but are getting some opposition from a fringe group that has no understanding as to what aviation is doing for their community.

A lot of FAA dollars are available for their project which would make up 90% of the funding for the project not to mention the construction jobs involved over the course of the five year life span of the project.

ALL pilots have a stake in this. Every airstrip is important, especially when you realize you are in some trouble.

I spent yesterday helping Jerry Preiser in Boynton Bch, FL to get his fuselage ready for the paint shop. Jerry is a air traffic controller at Pompano Beach and my new hangar mate. We'll try hard to have him ready to fly to RR this year. I can see long hours in the summer heat working in the hangar again (almost miss it :).
By lunch time we had the fuselage masked and loaded on the trailer for the 30-40 min trip to Lantana airport for painting. I was running rearguard with my mighty Prius. Couple motorcycle cops came from behind, slowed to look, and left us alone. Made it OK to the airport, even after Jerry run a red light with the trailer. The dumb ass airport management installed gate with obstacles in the name of "public safety", so we got stuck. Had to disengage the trailer and maneuver it by hand to pass the gate. But we made it.
Next we have to tow it all the way to Pompano Beach, over an hour trip, maybe two if we take the side streets instead of I-95?
Jerry is doing great job with lots of High-tech features: double large screen Skyview, fire suppression system etc. etc..
There is no way he is parking next to me at RR. Will make my old CZ look really bad :)

Hello to all,
I was getting ready to purchase a set of Cozy MK IV plans when an acquaintence of mine let me sit in his almost complete Cozy. I'm 6"2' and although it was fairly comfortable I had a slight bend in my knees to get my feet placed on the pedals and my head had very little room to tilt to the left. The close proximity of my head to the canopy wasn't a deal breaker but due to the bend in my knees they ended up against the instrument panel. Didn't seem like it would be all that cozy after a long flight. Is there anything in the plans or modifications that will allow the seat to be adjusted (moved aft, lowered, etc), pedals extended, or to put a slightly bigger canopy on??? Just need an inch or so. Any help or guidance is appreciated.

As a 14 year chairman for the AirVenture Cup race, It is with great distaste that I want to pass along the following information concerning the cancellation of the AirVenture Cup Race by EAA management.

The following is an excerpt from an email to the AirVenture Cup Race Staff from Chad Jensen The Homebuilt Community Manager at EAA.

"With direction set from the top, and in light of the general public concern for anything related to air racing, EAA will no longer be associated with air racing in any form going forward."

As a race staff we are highly disappointed in EAA's decision in this matter. We all looked forward to this years race. Thank you to anyone on this forum who ever participated in this event, and to those who participated every year. We hope you enjoyed it while it lasted.
I have Friday afternoon set aside for a canard...doesn't matter Long EZ, VariEZ, Cozy, Velocity, VariViggen...I need someone who can talk about the airplane, construction, design, and answer questions for about an hour. I'd like to have the airplane in the hangar by 1pm, talk from 2-3ish, then out at 4 or so.
Anyone interested???

I've often joked that I'll attend OSH when I need new vinyl siding, a new hot tub, or my plane is nearing completion. Hint: pick the last one ;)

So, I think I should go this year. By scooter from Denver area, probably camping (WI state park or otherwise), and probably riding in each day.

However, I've seen pix of cars lined up waiting to get through the gates

Tent space at camp Stoller appears to be for the whole week, not for a few days

Hotel/motel on the outskirts is not out of the question for me (cheaper).
Sharing a room is not out of the question (unless it's a penthou$e $uite).
Sleeping on the floor is somewhat normal for scooter pilots, it doesn't bother me.
If someone is flying through the Denver area on the way to OSH, am certain I can find some folding money in my mattress for pilot "trinkets and stuff".

Probably be attending OSH Wed to Sat, depending.

Thoughts, comments, support appreciated :)

Rick
