After spending some considerable time looking at the Long-EZ canopy latch and locking systems threads on this forum and looking elsewhere too (call me a poly-forumist...), I am completely confused as to which way to go to have a canopy latch system that does the following:
Anything else that needs to be on this list??
So taking a 2012 view of this situation, looking back on years of different designs and comments on this topic, which side opening based design would be the best to use?
- Avoids use of a plans-style door
- Has an external handle and key lock
- Employs or works with some kind of safety catch
- Can be manipulated into the open position by the backseater in emergency situations.
Anything else that needs to be on this list??
