Re: To rotary engine users

Thanks for reply:

To rotary engine users

Note: Over the years, I have posted frequently on this site. I'm not building a Cozy and most likely never will. Nevertheless, if I did, the Mazda rotary engine holds a lot of appeal. Eventually,...

Re: Question about fuselage appearance

@Neverquit,
I just saw your Cozy with the elongated nose and that is exactly what I would do, with perhaps a slightly more rounded nose right at the tip. That is one cool looking aircraft. One of...

Re: Question about fuselage appearance

Rich, I suspect the added length and mass of an elongated nose would not change the CG all that much. The amount of ballast for a pilot alone would have to be decreased to compensate for added nose...

Question about fuselage appearance

As has been noted many times, composite construction allows the builder to make all kinds of modifications, and as long as he or she stays within proper engineering parameters, he (or she) can create...

Re: Airplane jokes.

This is off subject but I broke into this thred to post a question. I'm interested in some statistics. It's well known that only a certain percentage of builders finish their craft. What I'd like to...

Re: Cozy IV for sale - I bought an RV

Well, I guess, as they say, "An era passes". Certainly, John. you were a pioneer in the use of the rotary powerplant in canard type aircraft. Thanks for the inspiration you gave to many. As for me, I...

Re: Inquiry about PSRU's for Mazda rotary

People
As was pointed out by Marc Opelt and Magnum, the ballistic PSRU looks like a good contender for the rotary engine. It may be more sturdy than the RSW unit. It appears to have an offset between...

Inquiry about PSRU's for Mazda rotary

This is a request to anyone who is using the rotary engine. I have asked around about this but haven't really received a satisfactory answer. Real World Solutions is obviously out of the aircraft...

Flight in a different type aircraft.

Recently, I had the pleasure of flying as a passenger in a powered "paraglider". Certainly, this has little to do with canard aircraft, except that it's a form of flying. One of the members of the...

Flight characteristics of the canard wing

Sometime back, I learned of a characteristic of the canard of which I was unaware. I'm not knocking the canard aircraft design, but rather, careless piloting. Others probably know about this but I...

There has been a discussion going on for years about the Mazda rotary for the Cozy. Personally, from all I've heard and seen, this engine is a great choice for this plane, once the peripheral...

Re: Making your own strake wet leading edges

Dennis' idea of strake wet leading edges is a great one. Just one little technical question. When you glue on the narrow strips of foam on the outside, it makes a rough surface. How do you get a...
