Re: How many Gear Up landings do we have?

My first reaction would be to re-establish the low rpm / nose gear warning system.

I have seen talk of a wheel like yours through the years, but the talk always leads to reasons to not install the...

Re: Uh-Oh, Here We Go - State Sales Tax

In Virginia:

If you purchase parts from an individual that doesn't sell parts often, its called occasional sale and you don't need to pay tax.

I bought my engine from a friend... it came off of his...

Re: N951TM: Velocity Restoration

Oh wow, that sounds horrible!!!

On my Cozy and on my old BMW motorcycle, everything is so easy to take apart, maintain, and put back together. I am very thankful to Burt and Nat for designs that...

Re: Nylaflow routing for Hidden Bellhorns

Yeah I agree with TMann... I would not. That cable moves really well inside the conduit. I think it possible (and likely) that you could add friction to the system if you start adding lubricants of...

Re: Nylaflow routing for Hidden Bellhorns

Joe,
Its easy to route out the foam and micro from around the conduit later on with a dremel. You'll and up with what you propose... and loose 1" of conduit at the wing tip.

Re: Aircraft Spruce customer service

ACS has been a great supplier for me... too bad this order didn't go well for you. Perhaps it won't happen again.

Re: Taking a MKIV project to finish it

So, it sounds like you bought it? It could save you alot of time.
Do you have any way to have it inspected by an experienced Cozy person?

Re: Control System Bearings

Yeah, what you are doing here is very important. Its just as important to keep our wings and ailerons functioning as it is to keep fire out of the fuselage... what good does a firewall do us if we...

Re: Control System Bearings

Igus bearings have been OK'd by some of the senior builders / engineers / inspectors in our Rutan derivative community.

It turns out Burt Rutan used some of these in Skigull. I don't know which...

Re: Question about propeller position

Yeah, that would change the behavior of the aircraft. If your engine is making 600 lbs of thrust, and the thrust is 4" higher than it should be, then that will create a force that works to lower the...

Re: I too like to build a cozy!!!!!

KWVA seems like a tough airport for earning your private pilot certificate. Is KCRW is too busy?

The Velocity and the Cozy are both very nice and both fun to build.

The runway at KCRW is too...

Re: Suitable Canard present?

While $95 might seem like a lot of money for a picture book, I have never seen a different book option for this type of airplane. I don't think you will find any other book like this... anywhere.

Re: Strobes

I like how the wingtip fairing blocks on both N316NM and N97TX portray the shape of the wing... as if the wing actually extends slightly beyond the winglet.

I am deciding on how to shape that...

OK, good idea... thanks. I will do that when I'm ready to order. Regardless of any FAA approval issues, thank you for the review of the lights.

Re: Strobes

What?!?! Aveo doesn't state that. If you are sure, please help us by providing your source that all their lights are approved.

Aveo has some of their lights approved by the FAA. See this link...
