Default Ball Bartoe Jetwing - Amazing

This aircraft was developed in the early 70's to test "blown wing" technology, where the aircraft is powered by a turbofan engine, and the thrust is ducted through the wings and out over wings and ailerons. A small secondary "augmenter" wing and aileron fences direct air over the ailerons also. This produced lift when the ailerons were at the lowest point, like VTOL technology, and enabled this big plane to be controllable at 35 kts!

This is on display at Wings Of The Rockies museum in Denver, along with other cool planes, might be worth a road trip!
