The 337 exhaust is too wide for my application. I'll let it go for shipping if anyone is interested. pm and I'll send photos.

There you go Chris. Martins exhaust is light, it breaks down, and shouldn't cost more than 25 or 30 bucks to ship.

FYI- the guy that made my headers probably has laser cut exhaust flanges for Continentals.

I have PM,ed him for details and estimated cost. Waiting on reply. He states it is too wide for his install. I don't know how it would be for a Velocity SE. I do already have a 337 rear mount to modify. Seems promising.

I did have a FaceTime tour with my builder yesterday afternoon. It was kinda fun. Yeah, more fun for me. Here are a couple of pix of my bottom end assembly being, well, assembled. Those two gears at the front were an AD and a cool $1 AMU, as did the new main bearings (but the bearings were on him).

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be to wide for your velosety.

I would take measurements and photos but I realized its at Marc's shop.

I sent you the door codes. But if Chris got a turbo then it's pointless.

It is a TSIO, but based on a few recommendations, I likely will start without a turbo.

If you have the proper pistons for a TSIO it won't make power without the turbo.

Yup, the IO has 8.5:1 compression, the TSIO has 7.5:1.

So it will run OK at sea level, but not much power up high. Good thing you're in Houston, Chris!

But you can buy cheap gas for it until you get the turbos installed!

Good luck!

I stopped by Marc's shop today and picked up the exhaust. If you want it I'll pack it up and ship it to you. Just pm or text me your address if you decide to take it.

I'll be interested to find how that will run without turbo. The injectors and fuel pump and IIRC the throttle control on TSIO use boost pressure. FOr what it's worth, I am using TSIO pistons. They came with my cylinders. Lower compression, so I am thinking I might be able to run mogass. Of course I'll have a performance decrease. Continental actually started to market a normally aspirated io-360 with the lower compression Pistons and called it io-360-af (alternative fuel).

Also I recomend you snatch up one of those FM-300 spin on oil adapters. A couple sellers have them new on eBay for about half the new cost. I just fitted mine today. Perfect fit, super easy install.

Angry Re: Velocity 17010 Progress?

Well, I'm still waiting for my engine.

I did get an email from my builder last week stating everything was done except he was waiting for the hose that connects the intake plumbing and that it should be ready to ship this coming Friday, January 16, 2015.

The fact I pulled the trigger in March of 2014 is a bit frustrating especially since his last email said I now owed another $2000 for the last residual needed parts. A bit tough right after Christmas, even though I had been holding on to some money for the last ten months just for this reason....I did spend a bit more than I meant to over the holidays....plus shipping cost. So I am having to get creative. $2K may not be much for y'all, but it is can be for me, especially with the big dollars I have already spent on this. Seems the core he sold me was less than ideal.

Since it had already been waaaay longer than first estimated (2 months or so...but its ready when its ready...), I figured it would be a bit longer and I would have better cash flow. This was reinforced when one email I sent came back with an auto response stating he would be out of the country until January 14. DOH! SMH.

Red face Re: Velocity 17010 Progress?

This in an engine. This is an engine I have been waiting on for ten months. Some parts that should have arrived with it, did not, but I'm assured they are on the way. (i.e. mags, alternator, injectors, plugs, wires). sigh

Now, hopefully, solid progress can be made.

First, get it out of my garage and to the airport......

Moved hoist to garage last night. Should be able to load in my brothers truck and out to airport on Tuesday.
