Dude - required has nothing to do with it. Its recreational. And can I see from your blog you have the main "check" covered. Good man.

I'd pass on that one.

Most of the anti-depressant rule is a result of the lawmakers not the AMEs. This was a knee-jerk reaction to the 9/11 incident.

My brother was murdered in 2002 and shortly thereafter my employer (who figured I wasn't under enough stress) layed me off ..... one week prior to my closing on a new house.

I asked my doctor to put me on Lexapro while I worked on my Microsoft Certifications prior to re-entering the job market. So when my Medical came up ........ ding, ding, ding ..... we have a winner.

I had to drop the drug, wait the 30 days and get a doctors note. Another 60 days and I had my medical back.

About a year ago they changed the rule but I still have to disclose that my medical was denied previously.

Play the game and you'll be able to work through it.

go to an independent doctor who doesn't know you from a bar of soap, and don't tell him anything. If he finds something then so be it...but don't volunteer any information.
Tmann, did you volunteer the lexapro? What are your thoughts now about volunteering information? Would you do it again?

If you don't list the medication on the application can an AME find out about it?

I filled out the form honestly and worked thrugh the results.

Would I do it again?
No change there. I'm not looking over my shoulder.

Look at it this way:
You lie and get your medical.
You crash. The toxicology indicates the drug.

The accident occurs while you are flying in violation.
Is your insurance any good now?
Are you negligent?

Is it the condition or the medication that is the problem. You can have arthritis but once you take medication for it your disqualified. That makes no sense. Is it the depression or the medication that is disqualifying? You can be depressed and maybe worse and thats fine but don't take meds for it or you cant fly? Who thinks this stuff up? (rhetorical)
